Contribute to Ginga Arts Success!
Ginga Arts is a non-profit, meaning we rely exclusively on support from our communities, foundationas and friends in order to continue our programs. Please take a moment to look over these options and show your support of Ginga Arts. Whether you know someone who would be interested in Ginga Arts, want to make a donation, join our escript, drop off your print recyclables, volunteer etc. we greatly appreciate however you choose to show your support of Ginga Arts. We’ve got a couple of different ways for you to get involved below.

Donate to Ginga Arts
In addition to grants and volunteer support, your cash donation in support of Ginga Arts' goals is critical to our success. Even the smallest donations help. Twenty dollars won't fund an after-school program. But it could help provide healthy snacks (fruit, water, etc.) to kids who have just finished a capoeira class. This is just one small example of how your donations can make a difference.

Volunteer with Ginga Arts
Ginga Arts volunteers are motivated people looking to make a difference in the South Los Angeles communities. They come from a variety of business, educational and ethnic backgrounds. We are anyone from undergraduate college students to business professionals, though all have a passion for our programs and share an understanding of the importance of sport and art in the life of a child.

Become a Volunteer! We are currently looking for volunteers to join our Board and our Committee of Volunteers. Committee of Volunteer members are asked upon to make our wonderful events possible. Whether they are getting the word out or working our Batizado’s fruit bar volunteers are called upon to make sure our events are fun and our programs thrive! Board members act as advisors, connectors, and volunteers. We look to our board to help us build relationships with the community by using their own professional networks and know-how to help Ginga Arts survive. At board meetings we discuss the organizations strategic plan and give board members high level projects imperative to the organization’s mission. If you are interested in either of these roles or would like to help our in any other way please e-mail us at for more information.

Buy eScrip and Help Ginga Arts while you Shop
Ginga Arts is now registered with eScrip, an organization that allows schools and groups like ours to raise funds through everyday purchases made at eScrip merchants.

eScrip and over 150 merchant partners have created a system that rewards customer loyalty by contributing a percentage of purchases to your chosen group. You shop the way you normally shop for groceries, clothing, travel and entertainment. All you need to do is register your grocery club cards and debit/credit cards and each time you shop at a participating merchant, Ginga Arts receives a percentage of your purchase.

That's it and there's no cost to you! It takes only a few minutes to sign up and after that, it's automatic! Ginga Arts can potentially receive hundreds of dollars from your participation alone!

To sign up, go to and select "Ginga Arts" as the Beneficiary Group (Group ID: 500002737).

SUBJECT: wants you to know about Ginga Arts!

Ginga Arts is a non-profit that focuses on serving low-income communities in South Los Angeles. We work with schools that lack funding or resources for quality arts and sports programs. Ginga Arts provides these schools with free, on-site Capoeira classes.

Capoeira is a vibrant afro-Brazilian martial art that combines physical, musical, and cultural skills in a powerful way. Students in our programs may not otherwise get any organized art or physical education classes, making our classes very important to their development.

You can help us continue our programs! For more information, please visit us at and visit the "Contribute" area of our website.

Ginga Arts Testimonials

"One of the consequences of our current economy and lack of state funding has caused many public school students to lose out on visual and performing arts instruction. At ACES we are fervent about providing a balanced education for our students that is enriched by the arts in a tuition-free public school context.

Since October 2008, Ginga Arts has enriched our campus with multi-disciplinary Capoeira instruction that combines music, dancing, cultural heritage and martial arts. Thanks to generous gifts from foundations, Ginga Arts is able to enrich and transform the lives of our students that otherwise would not have this beneficial experience."
